Lately, some comments on our Facebook posts have been very critical of us and quite unsavory. In particular, we have been bashed for not including the prices of our shoes in the pictures we post. We do share in the concerns of our existing and potential customers. As such, we would want to address this issue now.
In our considered opinion, FaceBook is a social media platform and not as dynamic as an E-Commerce website. We only view it as a platform for ‘spreading the word’ and listening for customer enquiries and feedback.
About three years ago we did a promotional post that included the caption ‘UNDER GHS 100.00’. Three years on, we are being accused of deceiving the public because the price conveyed by our sales persons does not tally with the said post. This is just one instance of numerous people not being able to place posts within their valid time periods (perhaps out of excitement!). For the avoidance of doubt, we have made it a policy not to quote prices on Facebook or Instagram.
This is a deliberate policy because experience shows us that some followers on Facebook do not take the time to read promotional postings well. Most often, details about the duration of a promotion, even when boldly written, are either not noticed or taken into account. So even when the promotion is over, we still get people seeking to place orders at promotional prices. It is for this reason we decided to use other channels (specifically our website and Whatsapp account) to convey information on our prices.
We sincerely regret any discomfort or inconvenience this policy may have caused anyone. But it’s for good reason. We make it a point to as much as possible to include a link to our website in all our social media postings. Over there, every detail about pricing can be found. Otherwise, we can always be reached via whatsapp for further enquiries.
